Seventh-Day Adventist Hospital Thanjavur
In 1996 the Southern Asia Division decided to build a hospital in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. Dr. K A Paulson Yesudian purchased a 9-acre land in Thanjavur and a Community Health Centre and staff quarters were built and inaugurated on May 26, 1996. The Clinical work began soon after and the community was blessed with the services of the hospital. Dr. Paulson untiringly reached to the community in the area till he returned to England. In the year 2001 Dr. Narendra Rao along with his wife Dr. Rani Rao succeeded as Medical Director and opened the Eye Services. A Theatre block was added along with a Nutrition Centre. In 2004 Dr. Rajkumar CH and Dr. Pearlin joined the Hospital and led the work till 2008. Mr. Selvamony Karan was leading the work as administrator till 2015. Mr. Bhaskar is presently the Administrator. In the year 2017 a 30 bed Hospital plan was conceptualized with a Mother and Child Centre and the construction began in October 2018. Today a beautiful hospital is ready to cater the outpatient services with 5 Clinics, Pharmacy, Lab X-ray & Dental Services. The hospital is presently operated as an Urgent Care Centre and is also actively organizing community health programs.
